random tuesday: my parents are nuckingfuts!

It's Random Tuesday thanks to Keely over at the UNmom.  Give her a visit she's funnier than a duck swimming upside down.

MY PARENTS are retired and bored!

Mom calls me and tells me she and dad are sitting in their house, they live in the same complex FD (Forgetful Dad) and I do, when suddenly this man jumped the fence in their backyard!

"He jumped the fence and ran across the deck and then out toward the front of the house!"  Mom exclaimed. The excitement in her voice made me giggle.  "So dad and I hopped in the van..."

"Whoa Tonto, back the truck up!  Exsqueeze me?  You did what?"

Yep, I heard right.  Mom proceeded to tell me here and dad jumped into their mini van and followed the deranged yard stomping man up the hill toward the school until they ran into a cop.  They kindly told the office about what they had witnessed and the cop said they knew who the man was and he'd just beaten a student at the school and they will catch him.

Thank you for your sleuthing skills not get your almost senior asses home!

The entire time she's sharing this story I'm thinking... jeez so this is what FD and I have to look forward to when we retire.  Chasing criminals on our motorized scooters like two spies on mopeds.  Grrrrrrrreat!

I have feeling as more time goes on I'm going to have trouble with my parents, keeping them in line and out of trouble.  Lord help me!

MY KID IS either SMARTER THAN I REALIZED or has an excellent memory.

Despite his disabilities which are still under investigation, aside from his mild (very mild) Cerebral Palsy, PB (Pickleboy) shocked the crap out of me a couple of days ago.  We were sitting at mom and dad's visiting, something we do at least twice a week, when he starts to recite the alphabet.

Okay not genius I know.  I mean he is four after all and has been attending preschool (fine arts for special needs kids) for the past year.  But it was what he was doing while saying his ABC's...  He was drawing them in the air with his fingers.  A... B... C... and drawing them correctly!  Totally blew my mind.

Then we went out the next day to grab a Timmy-Ho's for FD and I bought cookies for PB and Gamer.  They love Tim's cookies.  We get home and in the bag were 6 peanut butter cookies for the boys to share.  My g/f shoelessmommy came over with her rug rats and I of course offered them the yumminess I had in the bag.  One for my friend and one for her kids to share.

PB comes tearing off the chair he was sitting in calmly and suddenly gets upsets.  "Hey I want a cookie before they are gone!"  He announces firmly.

"There are lots!"  I tell him.

He shakes his head wildly, staring at me incredulous like I'm off my rocker and he says...

"No mom there are only four left.  Can I have one?"

Ummmmmmm what?  I looked at FD and he looked at me and we both looked at Shoelessmommy and shook our heads.  Not quite sure how he knew how many were in the bag.  So later that night I asked him because it bothered me.  I mean it could just be a fluke right?

"PB how did you know there were only four cookies in the bag earlier when I shared them with your friends?"

Laying in bed, he rolled his eyes and sighed heavily.  "There were six.  You gave two.  That leaves four,"  he said in a tone like I was as a dumb as a post if I didn't know that.

"Yeah but how do you know that?"  I pressed even further.

Again rolling the eyes.  "Mom everyone knows dis stuff!  Can I sleep now?"

This is a kid who didn't talk or walk until just before his second birthday.  A kid who can't put on his own shoes, throws tantrums when things don't make sense to him.  But he can subtract?

Wow - the next few years are going to be fun!

random tuesday thoughts: farmville hay bale incredible!

Okay so I have to admit aside from blogging here at Rants n' Rascals, Memories from Mom and my two other blogs Peek-a-boo Blog Designs and Author JP Shaw.  I do occasionally find time to uh... visit Facebook and uh... play a few games.

Okay drag it out of me.  I'm addicted to FARMVILLE!

I can't help it.  I've always wanted to live on a farm.  I love visiting all my animals and collecting from them, building things, planting crops and well - I know it can a useless waste of incredibly valuable time.  But hey - as moms we could all use some of that once in a while.

Farmville is holding a contest on the most creative artwork made strictly with hay bales.  I of course entered my pathetic attempt at art.  But mine was as I said pathetic compared to some of these incredible finalists for the contest.  Take a look below.

Dragon with fire.  Very unique.

Weeping Willow Tree.  Totally Creative!

Farmville Dog - Cute!

Geisha Girl, I think this one is beautiful.

Farmville - Adorable!

Flowers in a Garden

This one is my favorite because of course I'm a mom and a lot of care and time went into duplicating this angelic little face.  It's gorgeous!

These are the finalists and you can vote on Facebook for your favorite under the Farmville application.  So head on over and pick which one you love the best.

As for me this was my pathetic attempt at art.  Hey my penguins needed a place to play and I thought a trickling stream looked pretty.  But ya I'm not artist LOL

Well that's it for randomness today.  If you participate in Random Tuesday then please head on over to visit Keely at the UNmom and post your linky there.

random tuesday thoughts: things i think about

It's Random Tuesday and of course thanks to Keely at the UNmom my fav gal pal on the net who is outrageously random.  My theme this week is things I think about.

Random thoughts always pop in my mind and I've realized as I've gotten older I've become more and more neurotic.  I don't know if it's from raising kids, being married or just simple aging.  Either way I realize I'm screwed in the head sometimes.

Sometimes I'm sitting in the van while we are driving on the way home from somewhere and I'm wearing jeans and they begin to feel tight around the tummy you know.  I always think how tempted I am to undo them, just while we drive.  But then I think what if we got into an accident?  They would pull me out of the van and find me with my pants down!

So my g/f and I are going to pick up her kids and we get in the elevator at her moms apartment.  I take a deep breath and instantly she notices something is wrong.  "What is it?"  She asks me.

"I hate elevators."  I told her.  She looked at me puzzled.  Then asked.

"Why don't we take the stairs then?"  She said.

"Because my laziness outweighs my fear of elevators!"

I am with Fido for my cell phone service.  I'm a new customer.  We just got this phone like a week ago and man I'm fucking pissed off!  Every time I go to make a call it drops the call.  I mean like every time.  Corky and I started arguing over it because I said I wanted to take the phone back.  He said maybe we had bad reception in our town home.  I picked up the phone and pretended to dial.

"Sorry she died.  Someone broke into her house and bludgeoned her to death and she tried to call 911 but her CALL FAILED!"

Thanks a bunch FIDO!

where is your happy place? random tuesday thoughts

randomtuesday

It's Tuesday which means it's time for some randomness.  I came across this blog post "How to Find Your Happy Place" by Lolli.  I thought - hey great idea to share with my readers and discover what their happy place is.  Everyone has one and if you don't -- you should.

When life bogs me down, dealing with bipolar depression, husband with a brain injury, child with special needs, being low income and more.  It's important to have a place to go to so a freak out doesn't happen which can turn UGLY if I don't go to my happy place(s).

1.) Reading a book - always calms me down especially if I throw in a bubble bath and some candles, away from the kid-lets for a few moments of mom time.

2.) Walk around Mill Lake.  Very tranquil and rejuvenating to boot.  There is nothing more relaxing than talking a walk through a wooded area with a surrounding lake to add some peace to your day.

3.) Cuddle with a stuffy.  Okay sounds lame I know but I have a favorite stuffy and yes the idea of a grown woman laying on a bed cuddling a stuffed animal might sound like a call for the men in white coats, but really it's relaxing and soothing to snug-a-bug with a stuffy.  Try it lol.

4.) Video Games.  Yeah I know okay mom ummm don't we try to discourage our kids from playing video games?  Well yes - yes we do.  I only let my boys play them for a few hours on weekends only, not during the week.  But when life bogs me down I will sneak into Gamer's room and play a little ice hockey or battle beasts in Spyro.  It takes my mind off things.

5.) Scrapbooking - One of my favorite things to do online.  I love taking pictures from the past and creating works of art.  It's relaxing and puts me in a happier mood especially if I feel like I'm accomplishing nothing.

So what or where are your happy places?  What do you do for mom time before you allow life to turn you UGLY and stress to invade your space?  Share it with us.  We wanna know.

If you participate in Random Tuesday Thoughts then please take a minute to hop on over to visit Keely at the UNmom and post your linky there.  She's a totally cool chick and fun to read!

random tuesday thoughts: sickness sucks, canucks lose, ellen makes me cry

randomtuesday

It's Random time because it's Random Tuesday and thanks to Keely over at the UNmom we are celebrating our randomness here at the Shaw house.  So here we go.

SICKER THAN A DOG

What does that mean?  How sick do dogs get?  Well I must be sicker than one because I've heard the saying for the past several days since I first became ill with this nasty bug that is partying it up inside of me.  And ohhhhhh I am sick.  You would think it would be a moms dream to be ill for a few days, get some much needed sleep, time away from the kids and hubby.  Yeah, not here.  My body aches in places I never knew existed and each time I move it's like I got run over by a train.  I'm also waking up every five minutes... or it seems like every five minutes -- to pee.  I hate it.  I don't know how I got ill but I think I will just roll over and play dead.

CANUCKS SINK AGAINST CHICAGO

Well I was less than thrilled with the boys performance Monday night when the Vancouver Canucks took on the Chicago Blackhawks for game 2 in Chicago.  It was bad enough Gary B was sitting in the stands.  Where is my bow and arrow when I need it?  I'd love to knock the bald right off him.

The boys didn't play great.  They weren't hitting.  They were't skating.  There was no intensity.  It was pretty sad actually.  Chicago came back after the second period with four unanswered goals (ouch) taking game 2 and sending the game back to Vancouver as well as guaranteeing a spot in Chicago for a game five.  Hopefully the boys will generate some offense and their defence will get its crap together and we can take games 3 & 4 in Vancouver.  That would be nice.

ELLEN MAKES ME CRY

I love Ellen DeGeneres.  She is suffering with back problems right now and I feel bad for her.  I know what that is like to be in pain every day.  2 years ago I was in a horrible car accident.  I dislocated my shoulder, hurt my back and neck and tail bone and I'm still recovering.  Yet she is the most generous person I know.  Well I'm not really lucky enough to know her but you know what I mean.  She is always giving of herself to other people, charities, products she believes in.  She shares everything with her audience, especially those less fortunate and struggling.  I also love her on American Idol which is on tonight and I cannot wait to watch it.  We are down to the top five.  Ellen you rock.  You make me laugh and cry with how wonderful you are.  Keep up the good work!

random tuesday thoughts: it's been a wild and wacky week of funny stuff

It's Random Time, Keely over at the UNmom makes me do this each week and God Love her for it!  This week has been stressful at the Shaw house.  My dad got ill suddenly, went to the hospital because he might have a blood clot in his leg.  My mom and me are both stressed because our co-op might be re-zoning and we might lose our homes and won't find out till next.  But it's been a fun week, too!

THE CAT ATE HIS COOKIE!

So we are sitting on the sofa when it dawn on me our hampster was being awfully quiet.  She's never quiet.  I went over to check on her and immediately noticed the lid to reptile cage, because it only makes sense to put a rodent in a reptile cage, well the lid was off.  No hamster inside!

We instantly started looking.  Under chairs, couch cushions, under the fridge, small corners and behind the television.  My mind racing because the door had been open all afternoon, it was sunny.  What if she got out?  What if she's hurt -- or worse.  What if the cats got her?

FD is looking.  Gamer is looking and I am, too.  The telephone rings and it's my mom.  I handed the phone to my four year old who had just started crying because he was worried about his fur ball.  Willingly he grabs the phone and says...

"Nana!  Nana! My cats ate my cookie!"

I could not stop laughing.  It was so very funny, he kept shouting it over and over.  My cats ate my cookie!  Our hamster's name is Oreo.

We did find her eventually after looking for over a half hour.  My son gets back on the phone and tells my mom.  "Yep we found her.  She was doing laundry!"

She was found behind the washing machine.

Note: We did end up getting Oreo a new habitat because she was constantly trying to get out of the square reptile cage we had her in.  She loves her new home.

i wish i had furry feet: random tuesday thoughts

randomtuesday

It's Random Tuesday and so of course that means I will posting a bunch of nonsense lmao, stuff that goes on around here and what's new in the Shaw household.

I wish I had furry feet.

There I said it.

Hair on the tops and sides, that way I could walk barefoot through the house on the cold hardwood floor without wearing socks.  I hate wearing socks!  My feet would stay warm and then FD (forgetful dad) would stop bugging the crap out of me about dressing my feet up.

MY SON THE GOALIE ROCKS!

We got home Sunday night from K-town, back from Gamer's last hockey tournament for the season.  He rocked.  Here is a pic of him in net.  I am a proud mama.

Making a big save!

Gamer is eleven, so pizza, swimming, hanging out with the guys.  It was the best weekend ever for him.  He was a bit hesitant to be up there since his biological sperm donor or "He who should not be named" as Gamer calls him, lives there and Gamer was a tad nervous about perhaps running into the (bleepity bleep bleep bleep bleep) guy after not seeing him for nearly year.

It was all good though.

Road trip wise, so much fun for Pickle.  He was stoked.  "Are we there yet?" was the common question asked during the four hour drive.  He was also a bit off set about peeing in the snow at the side of the Coq.  "Mama, I can't pee outside!"  Like it was the most digusting thing we'd asked him to do.  This coming from a child who at one point ate his own poo!

We got to our destination and heard... "Now we can go home!"

Trying to explain the fundamentals of how a vacation works to a four year old is like trying to explain to my husband why he's in the dog house when he's done really nothing wrong, I'm just in a mood.

So much fun!

So FD went down to the local coffee shop to pick up some food today.  Now being he has a brain injury, sometimes crap happens and apparently they (the blood sucking east indian owners) claimed he ordered the meal twice, despite the fact I called the order in and we've been going there as regulars for over four years.

They took FD's money but kept our food order, screamed at him (I wasn't there or my foot would have been claiming sunshine up their a$$) and made Pickle cry because they called the cops!

I went down in my pj's, due mainly to the fact that I'm still sick.  The cops thought the situation was absolutely retarded.  The lady accused us of trying to scam them.

Yeah I'm not the one stealing a brain injuried man's money, making a four year old cry and calling the cops over a bunch of onion rings and a BLT!

So lunch was fun.

random tuesday: where are all the spoons?

It's been a quiet week here at the Shaw household, while I've been getting better after a tooth infection, the flu and whatever else God decided I needed to deal with this week.

We are getting ready to go away to K-town, Gamer has a hockey tournament coming up this weekend. He's very excited. It will be great to get away for a couple of days, blow this town and think about nothing but my family and maybe even have some fun.

So Gamer came home yesterday and went outside to play of course. I asked FD to look through his knapsack to see if he finished his homework, you know it's not that I don't believe him when he says he's done it all. But it's a moms job to stay on top of things.

So FD goes through the kids bag and HOLY CRAP! Guess what we found? No, come on guess? Okay I will tell you. We have been asking Gamer where all our utensils are going. He claimed he had no idea. I asked him if he left them at school. He said not. Well here is what we found.

19 spoons in total! I could not believe my eyes, but hey at least my darling boy didn't throw them out. However, FD and I have told him from now he's getting plastic spoons because I cannot keep buying them when we have none.

just yank them all I say: random tuesday thoughts

randomtuesday

It's Tuesday and you know what that means. It's time for randomness according to one of my "fav" bloggers Keely at the UNmom.

I woke up at 6 am, yesterday morning in such extreme pain, I actually cried hard, like a baby wanting a bottle. I wailed and wailed, telling hubby I could not stand the pain anymore, it had to stop.  FD called the hospital but of course they did not return our call - yacklickinfartmongers!  Did they not understand how I was feeling?

So once again I drugged myself up with Advil and T3's (taken together) which was the only thing helping the excruciating knife wielding pain in my ear.  Well that and my contemplated thoughts of taking hubby's tools and just yanking the little bastards out that were causing me so much pressure in my skull that if the kids asked me again for another drink, something to eat, another drink or something to eat, I was going to replay for them scenes from the exorcist - the part where the girl turns ugly, spins her head around and vomits green puke all over the walls!

This pain had to stop.

It finally did.  FD got a call from a local dentist at 8 o'clock saying they needed to see me right away.  So in we went.  I was prepared to rip off their heads if they gave me a lecture as to why I hadn't been to the dentist in over ten years.

Hey I was a UBC kid.  That should be explanation enough.  If you broke that is where you go to allow student dentists to hover over you with their drills, salivating at the chance to put holes through your cheeks for better grades.  It's torture I tell you!

But they didn't lecture me.  Instead the Dentist, an older and well -- rather sexy man in his fifties held my hand and told me... "We can save your teeth.  They aren't that bad.  Some have to come out, but we can save them."

When he smiled every bone in my body melted and I almost believed him.  Sorry huny, but man the dentist was hot!  I like older men.  Move over Shaun Connery.

They worked on my mouth, taking x-rays, which they didn't charge me for.  Then after putting needle after needle in my mouth, they decided my teeth needed to be cleaned, and again they didn't charge me for it, so how could I say no?  Nobody refuses a free dental cleaning, right?

Some twinkie not even old enough to babysit my soon to be eleven year old began scraping the crap off my teeth, over ten years of build up on my pearly (yellows).  Did it hurt?  Feck - yeah!  I actually had no idea how much calcium deposits rested on my teeth and by the time she was done.

I looked at FD and told him anything oral he wanted done to him would happen in the next life time because my jaw felt like crushed bone.  He wasn't thrilled to hear that - but I'm sure our marriage will be fine (wink wink).

The shots they gave me were not nice.  They didn't hurt but had adrenaline in them which induced an anxiety attack which I wasn't prepared for, but I managed it.  Then came time for the tooth extraction.  Dreamy Dr. Dentist couldn't believe how hard it was to take the tooth out because I could still feel it.  He continued putting in needle after needle until my face felt like a pumpkin.  Finally, he cut off the top of the tooth and put the needle directly into center of it and wala... yes I said wala, it's a neat word.  The tooth area was frozen and he wrenched it out of my mouth!

No more ear aches.

No more pain in my neck.

No more swelling.

I was free!

Now I'm just waiting for the tooth to heal and trying not to get a dry socket.  Ouch!  those kinda hurt worse than the tooth ache.  The dentist showed me why I was having so much pain.  The tooth was severely abscessed.  Nice - and I brush!

I go back next week for a follow up and more cleaning.  He said he won't be there but his sons will.  Mmmm I'm thinking well-- if they look anything like their dad.  I just might enjoy going to see a dentist for the first time in my life.

Happy Random Everyone!

kids, american idol and being girly: random tuesday thoughts

randomtuesday

Well where to begin? It's Random Tuesday, one of my favorite days of the week where randomness is just around the corner and Keely over at the UNmom always makes me laugh and think mmmmmmmmmmm. So go and check her Randomness out.

As for me, it's been an interesting week. I'll start with the fact that it never ceases to amaze me the things my boys say to me, or blow my mind is more like it. Here are just a few.

Note: PB (Pickleboy) is almost four and GB (Gamerboy) is almost eleven.

PB: "You can go now." PB says while I'm snuggling him goodnight. "I don't need you anymore. I promise I won't follow you." (OUCH!)

GB: "Mom when am I gonna get hair on nards?" Ummmmmmm excuse me who said you have nards?

PB: "Mama, am I dopted?" ... "Uh, no." I replied. "Oh, well I want to be." Skips happily off to play in the backyard, leaving me mouth open banging my head against a wall. WTF?

PB: Standing in a grocery store when a lady is talking to PB when he tugs on my shirt.  "Mama you have a pussy, right?"  Okay nearly died.  He was talking about our cat, because the neighbor called it a pussy-CAT.  Man I wish PB didn't remember everything.

GB: "I want a girlfriend."  I look at him.  "No you don't."  Thinking, my gosh he's ten, praying he'd just slow down in life.  He turns to me.  "Why not?"  I think for a second and say "Look at me, do you want this?"  He smiles and says... "Good point!"  Yeah I'm saved again for another month or so... lol

AMERICAN IDOL:

I love American Idol.  I especially love it more now that Ellen is on.  I have to say, following that though, I am not thrilled with the girls this year.  The guys are way better, except for  Crystal Bowersox.  I loveeeeeee her.  She rocks.  She's a 24 year old from Elliston, Ohio.  She's also a mom and loves her son.

What I love about Crystal is her raw talent and she is heads and tails above all the girls on the show.  She acts as though she's been doing this for a long time, and she's not blondie blonde, big boobed, skinny to the bone.  She can rock out and sing a slow song, and tonight she wowed me with a Tracy Chapman song "Give me one Reason."  Best song of the night!

Go Crystal!  You have my vote for the top three.  Watch Crystal here singing CCR (totally awesome!)

BEING GIRLY:

Okay I can admit as much as I'm a car racing, hockey watching, don't care if you get dirty or have a potty mouth type of mom.  I also have moments where I'm actually a girl, and today was one of them.  I had a moment of total emotional breakdown.

I was searching the internet for which day Mother's Day falls on this year because I will be doing a contest giveaway for my readers.  It lands on the 9th this year, no big deal.  Then I saw it lands on May 8th next year which is my son's birthday, GB will be turning eleven, also the day he was born, best mommy day present.  But it was also the day I lost my little girl.

I was like four and half months pregnant going into my fifth month when I had complications and she didn't have a heart beat, and all of sudden I felt overwhelmed with sorrow for all the things I wasn't going to have.  I was never going to have a daughter.  I have three sons.  I was never going to have mother / daughter lunches.  Never going to get my nails painted with her.  She would have been turning five and starting kindergarten and so forth and I started bawling my head off.

Yeah I'm not sure what happened really.  Why it hit me like that.  I don't even really think about it anymore, not much.  I wanted a girl very badly but that is not the card I got dealt.  I got boys instead, and despite missing that from my life, it's never affected me like this, not since it happened years ago when I went through it.

It was strange to feel something that really should not have affected me.  Then Gamer hugged me, because he saw me upset and he confessed that he felt mad at me kinda because he really wanted a sister but he was sorry how hurt I was and for what I went through back then.  It touched my heart for him to share that with me.  God, I love him!  He's such an amazing kid.

All I can say is that when he gets married and his wife has a moment of insanity, my son is going to be well prepared lmao.

That's a good thing, right?

life in a nutshell: olympic fever is over and it's sad: random tuesday thoughts

The Olympics are over.  The guests have left.  The clean up has begun and as I flip through the channels searching for something to watch, I cannot help but feel a tad bit sad to see them go.

It was a great 17 days.  Yes we started off on a bad note, someone dying is never a great way to start anything.  Yes our cauldron with the Olympic flame burning brightly resembled joints stuck together begging for someone to smoke them.

Yes the malfunction is something we could and did make fun of, the closing ceremonies with the clown made me laugh my ass off.  Dang!  We just didn't plug it in -- that's why it didn't work -- silly us.

And our totum poles during the opening ceremonies looked like giant vibrators with penis shaped heads - sorry guys but they just did.  Not that I own anything phallic shaped (ahem) but I have seen pictures lol.

The games were great!

Our Canadian athletes did amazing.

The world was there to party with us and we enjoyed it.

But what did I love the most about the games?

The feeling of them.  That's what I loved.

Each time I heard the Canadian anthem sung, I cried.

When our men won Gold against the Americans in hockey in a game that led my nails to bleed due to biting them non-stop, waiting for them to stick that damn puck in the net, I cried.

The Tim Horton's commercial with the African American man who buys parka's for his family coming in and meets them at the airport, kissing his wife, handing her a coffee, welcoming her to Canada, welcoming her home.  Yep, I cried.

The Olympic games gave everyone a sense of pride that we have felt forever being Canadians and a place to shine and share that feeling.  Watching my boys wave their flags, tattoos on their faces, cheering for us in curling, speed-skating, skiing, snow-boarding, hockey and luge.  It was awesome to see.

Being Canadian is a good feeling and I'm proud of Canada for being the hosts I knew we could be, for showing the world who we really are, a bunch of laid back, easy going, friendly, always smiling people who basically love EVERYONE and welcome you to our home anytime to come back and visit or party with us.

There is nothing better than that.

Okay maybe breaking the world record for the most Gold ever won in Olympic history, but whose counting?

If you participate in Random Tuesday then head over to the UNmom and give Keely a visit at her blog and post your link there.  Keely rocks and she's totally random.  So link up today!

It's total randomness at our house

It's Tuesday which means randomness is imperitive, thanks to Keely over at the UNmom.

My cat is crazy!  Thomas is part Siamese and part Tabby and he's nuckin futs lately.  I swear he's turning into a dog, drinking out of the toity and begging for food.  Well he decided he'd try to climb the curtains, something he hasn't done since he was a kitten.  He got caught and couldn't get himself off.

This week has gone by so damn slowly I feel like scratching my eyes out. With Olympic fever pitching its tent at our house, we've been watching everything. The skiing, the bobsled, the skating and of course the hockey.

Team Canada lost to the U.S. which was totally crappy, on Sunday. We had friends over to watch the game and that was fun, despite my stress level being up as I waited to do my heart tests this week.

So we were walking through Wal-mart and I was getting some soup because it was on sale. Primo, chicken and herb and beef barley (yum!) and part of the heart and stroke guide to goodness. When a little old lady came by and she started taking my soup out of my cart and putting it in hers.

Okay I had like 15 tins of soup so I can see how she thought maybe my cart was a display. But the Tampax and chocolate milk should have tipped her off that maybe she was taking from the wrong cart.

So FD says to her "Ummm excuse me, but you are taking from our cart."

The old lady looks at him and shrugs and then walks away with our soup!

So I grabbed more cans to replace the ones she took and all the while FD is covering our cart. "Elderly person 3 o'clock!" he says making me bust a gut.

Wal-mart ppl!

We got a new member added to our family. She's furry and cute and I'm in love with her. Pickleboy (who) doesn't like animals at all will pet her occasionally and is getting use to her more and more. He also named her. Her name?

Oreo Cookie!

busy birthday weekend: random tuesday

Ya! It's Random Tuesday, one of my favorite days to keep everyone up to date on what is going on here.

Update on me:

I finished using the heart monitor and took it back to the hospital. It was sooooooo much fun NOT! Now I have to wait until the 24th to do the treadmill test and in the meantime keep myself sane which is not an easy task. Bed times are the worst for me. I hate night time because it means going to sleep and that means the possibility of not waking up which has really unruffled my feathers. I am trying not to think about it, since worry seems to be bad when you have a heart condition. Go figure!

Pickleboy has decided he does not like his bed again and has taken to sleeping with dad and I which is so much fun!  I swear to G_D I don't know if I can take anymore musical beds.  FD (forgetful dad) slept in Gamer's room, Gamer slept in PB's room and PB slept in our bed with me.  It's insane!  Next time I will play music so it will be fun.

The weekend came and went and was busier than normal.  The guys had hockey (early) heheheh like 5am they had to get up for practice and neither of them were impressed while PB and I lounged in bed until eleven snuggling.  Ahhhhhhhhh it was soooooooo nice hehehehe.

We had two birthdays to go to on the weekend.  One for my niece Caitlin who turned five.  Wow!  I cannot believe how fast the kids are growing.  We went over to my brothers house and the kids ate hotdogs, played outside and had some fun.  It's always nice when the cousins get together and my brother and I get to watch our kids play.  Makes me feel old though lol.

Big sister Kae.  I was trying to get her to smile bigger by telling her she loves boys.  She's uncrackable!
Nana wishing Caitlin a happy wish before she blows her candles out.
The kids posed for a pic and were all smiling.  Rare!
Nana wanted a pic with all her grandchildren.  I love how Pickleboy is staring up at her.  Colton is missing but he's in K-town with mom and dad.

Right after my niece's birthday we headed straight for Castle Fun Park, an amusement place here in Abbey for Lil Miss's b day party.  I was so impressed with Shoeless Mommy and how composed she was.  She has done so well this year for anyone who truly knows her and how difficult her daughters birthday is for her.

Lil Miss is a twin and Shoeless struggles with the loss of her son on this particular day while still trying to celebrate her daughter turning the big five!  You did amazing babe and don't let anyone tell you different.  The party was so organized and the kids all had a blast.  Thanks for allowing us to be part of your day.
Lil Miss blowing out her candles on her Hannah Montana cake!
Pickleboy and Lil Miss sharing a choo choo ride.  They have decided they are best friends and so they will get married and have eight kids.  Shoeless and I are okay with that lmao.
PB on his first ever bumper car ride!  He lovedddddddddd it!
I had to snag a pic of my best friend Shoeless of course.  Luv ya girl!

PB played this penguin game for over half hour and racked up 82 points to use at the gift shop.
Big brothers (Mister, Lil Miss's big bro and Gamer my eldest trying be cool at the little kid's b-day party)

All in all the kids had a blast.  PB has decided this is where he wants to have his birthday party which is coming up in a few weeks.  I can't believe he's turning four already!

It was Valentines during the b-day parties and both FD and I don't really celebrate other than a few yucky love words that cause us both to be squeamish in the morning and a nod of I accept you after.  We decided to have more fun and took the boys go-karting because nothing says I love you like "get the hell out of my way before I run you over you bugger!"

We wound the weekend down with some Extreme Home Makeover and the boys went to bed at eight lol, tired from the weekend events.  It was fun.

If you participate in Random Tuesday please go and visit Keely over at the UNmom and post your linky there.  She is totally cool and random and fun to read!
