henrik sedin wins player of the year

You've seen him with his brother Daniel on the ice.  Sometimes it's hard to tell the two of them apart, being they are twins and all.  But Henrik Sedin for the Vancouver Canucks proved this year that he could be a strong key factor, put the puck in the net, work hard player without his brother Daniel sitting in the wings.

I've always loved Henrik and not just because I'm an all huge Vancouver fan.  Apparently I'm not alone either.  363 league players, coaches and executives agreed when Henrik Sedin was named Sporting News player of the year.

Henrik racked in 108 first place votes with Washington's Alex Ovechkin finishing second with 86 votes and Pittsburgh's Sidney Crosby third with 72 votes.  Sorry boys you lost!  LOL.

Watching Henrik Sedin was amazing this year, even if the Canucks didn't make it past Chicago.  He led the NHL scoring race with a career high 112 points and made a huge impact on the ice when brother Daniel was out with injury, proving he doesn't need to play with his twin in order to be a dominant force on the ice.

I love this quote by Detroit defenceman Niklas Kronwall who states "Some guys thought it was the two of them or nothing, he really proved everyone wrong."

Henrik did the Vancouver Canucks proud and is up for more awards for the year.  I hope he wins and I can't wait to watch him play when the new season starts.
